The Hotel Bed, Minus the Hotel
You check in, drop your bag and sit on the edge of the bed. The pillow gives just enough. The sheet is cool and smooth. The duvet is heavy without being hot. By the second night you are sleeping better than you do at home, and you are not sure why.
The good news is that the hotel bed is not a secret. Marriott sells the beds, pillows, linen, robes and scents of its hotel brands through its own shop, Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques, so you can bring the bed home instead of just the memory of it.

Why a hotel bed feels different
A hotel bed is not one product. It is a stack of layers, each doing a job: the mattress, a pad or topper for softness, fitted and flat sheets, a duvet insert inside a cover, and a row of pillows. Change one layer and the whole bed feels different.
Marriott’s shop is organised the same way. Its bedding section splits into bed and bedding sets, linen sets, sheets and sheet sets, pillowcases and shams, duvet covers, mattress pads and toppers, duvet inserts and comforters, and throws and blankets. Mattresses and pillows each have their own section.
Start with the pillow
If you only change one thing, change the pillow. It is the part of the bed you notice first, and it is the easiest upgrade to make. Marriott’s shop leads with pillows for exactly that reason, presenting them as the pillows behind your best nights away.
Choose the pillow from the hotel you slept best in, then build the rest of the bed around it.

The layers under the sheet
The softness you feel when you first lie down on a hotel bed often comes from what sits on top of the mattress. A mattress pad or topper changes the feel of a bed without replacing the mattress underneath, which makes it the second upgrade most people should make. If your mattress is due for replacement anyway, the shop sells hotel mattresses too.
Sheets, duvets and the white-bed look
The crisp, all-white hotel bed comes from matching sheets, a full duvet insert and a clean cover. Buying them as a set is the simplest way to get the look, and the shop offers bedding sets and linen sets for exactly that.

Pick the hotel you liked, not just the product
What makes this shop different from any bedding store is that you can shop by hotel brand. The luxury group covers The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, EDITION, The Luxury Collection and W Hotels. Premium covers Westin, Marriott Hotels, Le Méridien, Renaissance, Sheraton and Gaylord. Select covers Courtyard, Fairfield and Four Points by Sheraton.
If a stay at a Westin or a Ritz-Carlton left you with a bed you still think about, start with that brand’s shop and you are buying the version you already know you like.

The bathroom and the scent
The hotel feeling does not stop at the bed. The bath section carries robes, towels, slippers, soaps and lotions, hair care and bath sets. The fragrance section covers candles, room and home diffusers, reed diffusers, room sprays and pillow sprays, which is how a hotel room smells the same every time you walk in.
Bundles, member points and the smartest way to buy
The easiest way to get the whole effect is a bundle. Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques sells sleep bundles, guestroom bundles, spa bundles and scent bundles, so the pieces already go together. The gift shop is organised by recipient and price if you are buying for someone else.
If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member, log in before you check out. The shop runs points promotions for members, and at the time of writing it also had an offer on pillows, so check what is running before you order.
Start with the pillow, add the layers that made the difference, and every night can feel like the second night of a good trip.
