Affiliate Disclosure
Bold Story makes money from affiliate commissions. We would rather you knew that before you read another word of our reviews than discover it afterwards.
What this actually means
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy something, the retailer or service pays us a commission. The price you pay is identical either way. An affiliate link never costs you more, and it never unlocks a different price or a worse deal.
Who pays us
We work through affiliate networks, which sit between publishers like us and the brands they represent. We currently work with Awin and Impact, and we expect to add others over time. Where we have a direct relationship with a brand rather than a network one, we say so on the page it appears on.
What a commission does not buy
It does not buy a positive review. It does not buy a higher score, a place in a best-of list, or a mention at all.
We decide what to cover before we check whether an affiliate programme exists for it. When something we recommend has no affiliate programme, we recommend it anyway and link to it anyway. When something with a generous programme has a real flaw, we write about the flaw. Scores and rankings are set under our Editorial Policy, and commercial relationships are not one of the inputs.
Where you will see them
Every article containing affiliate links carries a disclosure at the top of the page, before the article text, so you see it before you read our conclusions rather than after. In the page code, affiliate links are marked rel=”sponsored”.
Advertising
We also carry display advertising. Advertisers have no input into editorial content and no advance sight of it. Nobody can buy a verdict on this site.
If something looks wrong
If a piece here reads to you like it was shaped by a commercial relationship, tell us at contact@bold-story.com. We investigate, and we publish corrections rather than quietly editing.
