Logitech MX Master 3S: The Spec Sheet, and What Is Missing From the Box
The MX Master 3S is $84.99 on Logitech’s own site against a $99.99 list price. It has been superseded by the MX Master 4 but is still sold — and on one variant, the charging cable and the receiver are not included.

Check which box you are buying
This is the detail worth catching before you order. Logitech’s spec sheet for the Bluetooth Edition lists only the mouse and documentation — the USB-C charging cable is not included, and neither is the Logi Bolt receiver.
The Business version’s box does include the Bolt receiver, a USB-A-to-USB-C cable and documentation. Same mouse, different contents, and the listings do not always make it obvious.
The MX Master 4 exists
Logitech launched the MX Master 4 in October 2025 at a $120 launch price. The 3S remains listed and in stock, which is why it is still worth writing about — but you are buying the previous generation, and that should be reflected in what you pay.
The quiet clicks claim
Logitech claims 90% less click noise than the MX Master 3. Tom’s Hardware corroborated this qualitatively on a live call but did not measure it with a decibel meter, and neither have we. Treat “90%” as the manufacturer’s figure, not a tested one.
What is not in dispute is that the switches are noticeably quieter in use — that part is consistently reported.
Limitations worth knowing
- No backward compatibility with older Logitech Unifying receivers (independent finding)
- The device-switch button is on the underside and cannot be reassigned
- Track-on-glass needs glass at least 4 mm thick
- Wireless only — there is no wired mode, so a flat battery means a one-minute charge stop
Materials and warranty
Made with recycled plastic — Logitech publishes 85% post-consumer recycled content in the dark colours — with a stated carbon footprint of 7.78 kg CO2e. The warranty is 2 years limited hardware. Logi Options+ software is free and there are no consumables.
