How to Buy POP MART Blind Boxes in the US: Series, Whole Sets and Secrets

The box fits in one hand, and it’s sealed. Inside is one figure from a series of designs. You won’t know which until you open it, and that’s the whole idea.

POP MART has built a devoted following around that moment. In the US, it sells its blind boxes and the rest of its range through its online store and a growing list of shops, a story that began with its first permanent US location at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. For a first-time buyer, the way everything is organized can take a minute to read. Here’s how buying from POP MART in the US works, from the first series you pick to the box you open.

Start with the character, then the series

Everything at POP MART begins with a character. The best known is Labubu, from THE MONSTERS. The US site also features SKULLPANDA, Hirono, CRYBABY, Molly, Dimoo, Hacipupu and Twinkle Twinkle among many others, plus collaborations with Harry Potter, Disney, Marvel, DC, Hello Kitty and Friends, and SpongeBob.

Each character appears in series. A series is a themed set of designs released together, such as THE MONSTERS Hair Salon Series or the Hirono × Harry Potter Series Figures. Within a series there are several regular designs, and many series also include a rarer secret edition.

The format is designed to be exciting. Part of the fun is not knowing, and part is comparing what you pulled with friends.

Why prices vary so much across the site

Browse the US store for a few minutes and you’ll see a wide spread of price points. That comes down to format more than anything else.

At the small end are POP BEAN mini items. In the middle sit the classic blind box figures and the plush pendants, including THE MONSTERS vinyl plush pendant blind boxes. Further up are action vinyl dolls and the MEGA collection, sold in scales labeled 100%, 400%, 700% and 1000%. There are also squishy charm blind boxes and accessories for the home, bags and phones.

Within a single series, the other big variable is how many boxes you buy: one, or the whole set. That’s the next decision.

One line of perspective before going further: these are collectibles to enjoy, not investments, and resale values rise and fall with demand.

Single box or whole set

A single box gets you one random design from the series. Because each box is a surprise, POP MART’s own policy notes that it’s normal to receive duplicate items when buying non-whole sets.

A whole set gets you one of each regular design. POP MART stands behind that: if a whole set arrives with duplicates, the company says it will resend the missing items once you share photos of all the products and your order number. For anyone who wants a complete shelf without the guesswork, this is the most direct route.

Secret editions work differently. POP MART says secret and hidden figures are distributed by probability, that drop rates vary by series, and that obtaining one isn’t guaranteed unless the product says so, for example with the words “secret included.” The company also doesn’t take requests for specific designs, so every single box stays a true surprise.

If you use POP NOW, the site’s online unboxing feature, keep in mind that boxes opened through it aren’t eligible for cancellation or returns based on personal preference. It’s built for the reveal, so enjoy it that way.

The one line to read on every listing

Before you add a blind box to your cart, find the odds. POP MART says the specific drop rates for each series are listed as plain text on the product’s detail page, on its physical packaging, or both. That single line shows how the series is weighted and how rare the secret is, and it’s the best way to decide between a single box, a few boxes or the whole set.

Check the format name at the same time. “Single box” and “whole set” can sit side by side on the same product, and choosing the right one is most of the decision.

Official store or resale

Popular series get resold widely, and resale has its place, especially for series that are no longer on sale. Prices there are set by individual sellers, though, and the after-sales support comes from whoever sold the box.

Buying from POP MART’s own US store or shops brings the company’s policies with it. Figures come with an identity card, and if the card doesn’t match the figure, POP MART says it will send the correct one. Quality issues, such as a fracture that wasn’t caused by the buyer or a figure that can’t stand upright, qualify for after-sales service when reported within 15 days of delivery. And a whole set bought from POP MART comes with the completeness promise described above.

If you’d rather shop in person, the US site lists store locations including Summerlin in Las Vegas, UTC San Diego, Orland Square in Orland Park, Illinois, Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, the Galleria at Roseville, and Seattle Premium in Tulalip, Washington.

Why the official store is the place to start

For a new collector, POP MART’s US store makes the whole process clear. The odds are printed on the listing, the whole set comes with a completeness promise, and every figure carries its identity card. That leaves you free to focus on the part that matters: choosing a character you love and enjoying the reveal.

Pick a series, read the odds line, decide between a single box and the whole set, and check current prices and availability on the POP MART US site. Then open the box.
