Anker Soundcore Space Q45: The Battery Beat Its Own Claim, and the Price Is Not $79

The Space Q45 is $149.99 on Soundcore’s own site — not the $79 this page previously said, which was almost certainly a past sale price. The interesting part is the battery: independent testing measured it running longer than Anker claims.

The price correction, first

$149.99 is the manufacturer price. Best Buy shows $119.99 marked down from $149.99, but lists new stock as unavailable from that seller; refurbished units run $89.99 to $139.99.

$79 is $70.99 below the manufacturer price and matches no current listing we found. Availability is also thinning — Soundcore’s newer Space One and Space One Pro now sit above this model in the range, though we found no formal discontinuation notice.

Where the claims held up under testing

This is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly. Anker claims 50 hours with ANC on at 60% volume. SoundGuys, testing a unit it bought itself rather than one supplied by Anker, measured 55 hours 48 minutes — beating the claim.

Weight held up too: Anker publishes 292 g, SoundGuys measured 292 g, TechGearLab measured 294 g. When a manufacturer’s numbers survive independent checking this cleanly, that is worth more than a marketing claim about premium materials.

Where the claim is softer

Anker claims the ANC “reduces noise by up to 98%”. TechGearLab measured attenuation of 19.1 dB in the low frequencies, 23.1 dB in the mids and 41.6 dB in the highs.

Those are respectable numbers. They are also not the same statement as “98%”, which is a percentage of an unspecified quantity — the kind of figure that cannot be checked because it does not say what it is a percentage of.

Two restrictions Anker documents

• You cannot use them while charging. A dead battery means no listening until it recovers.
• LDAC is disabled when multipoint is active. You can have hi-res audio, or two devices connected at once — not both.
• No IP rating is published, so there is no stated splash or sweat resistance.
• Frequency response and charging port type are not published either.

The rest of the spec

40 mm double-layer drivers with a silk-and-ceramic diaphragm, Bluetooth 5.3, LDAC alongside AAC and SBC, two microphones with AI processing, and a claimed 4 hours of playback from a 5-minute charge — a figure SoundGuys independently reproduced. A carrying case and AUX cable are in the box.

Soundcore markets a “Hassle-Free Warranty” but publishes no duration, so we are not stating one.
